The Polo Bar Review | By Alana Robin

This past week I finally made it the The Polo Bar in New York City for dinner! After making the reservation a month ahead, I can safely say it was worth the wait! Walking into Polo Bar was like walking back in time to a high-end speakeasy. People were all dressed to the nines while enjoying dark liquor cocktails in the most beautifully decorated rooms.

Today's post will be a full review of The Polo Bar restaurant in Manhattan.
Reasons to Love
The polo bar has the vibes of old-money, high-end speakeasy (aka you will feel instantly 100% fancier than you are)
The food is elevated classics that are yumyumyum
It is a fabulous excuse to dress up and catch up with a friend

What I Ordered
THE POPOVERS
WOWZA. There were popovers instead of bread to start, and I may have had two servings. I have always been a HUGE popover fan, but these were next-level delicious.
Pro-tip: Make friends with your waiter so you can have a few rounds of these!
Pigs in a Blanket
Served with Spicy Mustard
For an appetizer, we split the pigs in a blanket. I love pigs in a blanket as much as the next girl, but I do not usually order them in restaurants. These came highly recommended though, so we went for it. They were truly delicious and cooked to perfection; however, I don't know if I would go for it again. While being good, they weren't nearly as special as the other dishes we had.
Sante Fe Burger Special
Tomatoes, Lettuce, Onions, Pickles, Cheddar, Onion Rings, and Avocado
For our entree, we split the burger special and Agnolotti. The special burger was essentially the regular burger with onion rings and avocado added to it. It was absolutely amazing and served with some great fries. I think this is a great option if you're looking for one of the cheaper menu items, but still want to go for a classic!
Spinach & Ricotta Agnolotti
Parmigiano Truffle Sauce & Shaved Black Truffles
The Agnolotti was fab. There were some of the biggest pieces of shaved truffle I have ever had topping the little spinach & ricotta bites. Would highly recommend these if you want a more unique, elevated dish!
Polo Bar Winter Punch
Mr. Katz's Rock & Rye, Cranberry Liquor, Lemon, Ginger, Pressed Cranberries
Many of the drinks were dark rums and whiskeys, as you can imagine given the vibes of the place, so I went for this fruitier twist.
"I’m drawn to the kind of food that people truly enjoy—vibrant food that people want to return to time and again." - Ralph Lauren
The Atmosphere
The environment feels like stepping back in time into a 50s elite prep school principals office. But with better food and drinks.
I loved the elevated, yet classic decor. It had the all-american vibes you could only expect from Ralph Lauren.
What to Wear
I went after work, so was just in my work clothes. Ideally, I would say to dress a little dressier (and preppier) than usual. Faux furs, dresses, heels, or a cute blouse would be perfect!
Who I'd Recommend Going With
The Polo Bar is a great date spot or small girls night spot. It is better for smaller tables of 2-4 people. Definitely a great romantic spot to celebrate something special! Would highly recommend for an anniversary or birthday.
XOXO,
