The Plaza Afternoon Tea Review | By Alana Robin

I recently went for afternoon tea at The Plaza Hotel, and it was a truly magical experience. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved Eloise and dreamed of having afternoon tea at The Plaza Hotel. At age 23, that dream finally became a reality!
My good friend recently got into Medical School, so we knew this would be the perfect way to celebrate. Today I will be breaking down all the aspects of having high tea at The Plaza from what to order to what to wear to who to go with, this post has you covered.
Reasons to Love Afternoon Tea at The Plaza
The Plaza is a landmark of New York City and there is no place quite like it
You can add some bubbly for an extra fancy celebration
You will instantly feel like Eloise and have all your childhood dreams come true!

What I Ordered
When you go for Afternoon Tea at the Palm Court, the options are to do either the New Yorker Tea ($79) or the Champagne Tea ($99). The Champagne tea has slightly more elevated sandwiches (aka Caviar!) and, as you'd expect, includes Champagne. Given the size of the price differential and The Plaza Tea being a once in a lifetime experience, we choose to splurge and do the Champagne Tea.
Once you decide on your package, you can pick from a long list of teas. I did the Lavender Oolong tea and my friend went for a fruity green tea called The Du Hammam. Both were delicious, and I would easily have either again. I would recommend getting a few different flavors at your table so you can share around!
Finger Sandwiches, including: Herb-roasted prime rib, foie gras mousse, peekeytoe crab, porcini mushroom quichette, lobster roll, caviar blini
Seasonal scones: Served with devonshire cream, lemon curd, and preserves
Pastries and Sweets, including: Cakes, mousses, eclairs, fruit tarts, and macarons
Tea: Choose from a large selection of teas
Champagne: Veuve Clicquot Brut and Moet & Chandon Rose
The Atmosphere
Living up to it's name, The Palm Court is full of gorgeous palm trees and palm fronds. You will be transported to an airy, Palm Beach cafe. I loved the look and feel of being in an open air restaurant during the spring, despite it actually be 30 degrees outside in the middle of Manhattan. It is a great spot to get away from a cold, grey day!
What to Wear
Going to The Plaza means it is time to dress it up! I went for a pastel top and skirt combo, but I think it'd be a great place to break out some fun bright colors and patterns. You can also channel your best Blair Waldorf vibes and go for a chic headband and overstated coat.
Who I'd Recommend Going With
This is the perfect spot for a celebration. It'd be a great spot to go with family from out-of-town or girlfriends. I also think it would be a great pick for an intimate bridal or baby shower!
XOXO,
Alana Robin
