Ipsy Unboxing & Review | January 2019

My monthly Ipsy arrived this week, and I can't wait to show you all the goodies inside! I have been subscribing to Ipsy on-and-off for the last 6 years (some breaks have been longer than others!), and they are hands down my favorite subscription serivce.

What is Ipsy?

Ipsy is a subscription beauty service where for $10 / month you recieve 5 sample products to try out. Some samples are larger than others, and if you review each month they tailor the products more and more to your needs.

What I got in my January 2019 Ipsy Glambag

Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner - $22

Sososo happy to have gotten this in my box this month. I received one of these in a Birchbox about a year ago and loved it! So much so that I repurchased and only recently ran out again. I am glad to have another one back in my makeup collection! It is a felt tip liner that keeps its precision and is super easy to use for a thin wing tip look. I would highly recommend if you want a product for doing a quick and natural winged liner!

Ciate London Wonderwand Mascara in Black Magic - $22

WAHOO! I love getting a mascara in a subscription box. You are supposed to change your mascara every few months to keep from getting bacteria in your eyes, but it is hard to keep up with that. Having samples is a great way to remind yourself to throw one out and to try a new mascara without wasting any when its time for that one to go too! I haven't tried one from Ciate before, but am excited for this one. So far it seems to add great volume!

Naked Cosmetics Heavy Metal Shadow in HE-06 - $14.99

I got a bright blue version of this eye shadow, which definitely is not my daily look. I think it will be fun to try once or twice for a weekend out, but this product probably won't become a favorite of mine. That said - it has a creamy finish and good color payoff if this is your style! They also recommended mixing with water for eyeliner or with clear nail polish as a polish color. I am intrigued to try it as a nail polish and will keep you guys updated!

Beautaniq Beauty Blush Serum in Sunset - $16

LOVE this blush. It reminds me a lot of the Glossier blushes, which are amazing. It has a creamy finish, natural color and blends really easily. You only need a small drop to do both cheeks, so I think even the sample size will last a long time. I am really excited to try it out on my lips too (great two-in-one product)!

Akar Skin Lip Butter - $30

Do you know the lip balm that feels really good and hydrating when you put it on, but then doesn't make a lasting difference? That's how I feel about this one. Definitely nice, but not something I would re-purchase or make part of my daily routine. They also suggest using it on cheeks for a dewy look or over a matte lipstick for a gloss finish, so I may try out those two options before totally writing it off.

The total value of my box (if purchased full size for all) is $104.99!

They have a new subscription option where you can get a box every other month which is AMAZING. I love the option because if you're like me, you are drowning in samples from other boxes and Sephora orders, so monthly is a little too much.
