Chia Pudding & Oat Jars

Pudding for breakfast? I love making chia pudding jars to have for breakfast or an afternoon snack because they are filling and nutritious. You can also get very creative with your toppings and combinations, which is great for using up anything you have in the house.

If you're looking for this to be more of a dessert, you can also add in nutella and chocolate chips for something sweeter.

Ingredients for Chia Pudding & Oat Jars:

  • 1/4 cup chia seeds

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • Rolled oats

  • Peanut butter

  • Honey

  • Optional: Frozen berries or jam

  • Optional: Fresh fruit

How to Make Chia Pudding & Oat Jars:

  1. Mix together 1/4 cup chia seeds and 1 cup almond milk. Let sit in refrigerator for 4+ hours. I often let this sit overnight to keep it easy.

  2. Mix together a heaping spoonful of peanut butter, frozen berries or jam, and a splash of almond milk. For this this step, you are essentially making a thick smoothie to layer with your chia seeds so you can get creative with what you use based on what you have available.

  3. Layer chia seeds, rolled oats, peanut butter mixture, rolled oats, chia seeds into a jar. Having the oats between the other mixtures will allow the oats to soak up their flavors and keep the layers separate.

  4. Add toppings of fresh fruit, honey, cinnamon, chocolate chips, toasted almond - anything you like!

  5. Store in fridge and enjoy within five days.

You can easily make this recipe with any jars you have in the house or even Tupperware.

What are your favorite toppings to add to chia pudding? I would love to see! Please tag me in your creations @alanarobina.
